Dear Members,
Turkish Folk Dance practices will begin soon. Â Our teacher Nergis
Peterson would like to have a meeting this Saturday to find out the
interest level and give information about the dances we will be
performing at the Festival of Nations. Â This meeting will be held
between 3:00-4:00 PM, following the TAAM elections on Saturday, January
31, 2009 at the Pearl Recreation Center at Diamond Lake.
Pearl Recreation Center
414 E. Diamond Lake Rd.
Minneapolis, MN 55419
Phone: 612 370-4906
Time: Â 3:00- 4:00 PM
There will be a group for children and a group for adults. There is no
previous experience needed for either group. Please allow 1 hour
practice time for each group (1 hour for children and 1 hour for adults)
This is an exciting opportunity to represent the culture of Turkey, have
fun, get excursive and socialize all at the same time. The time
commitment will be one hour a week until the end of April. Let’s
consider making this year’s Festival of Nations experience a fabulous
one for us in Minnesota.
If you are not going to make it this Saturday, but you and your child
(children) are interested in joining the group, please let us know by
sending an email to taam@taam.org by February 5th, 2009.
Please check your email soon for more information and tell all of your
friends.
By taking this opportunity, we would like to thank Nergis Peterson and
Nese Yurttas for their efforts to bring people together as well as  to
represent a part of Turkish culture at the Festival of Nations  which
will be held in April 30- May 3, 2009.
All the best,
TAAM Board
